Get the app
Two taps, no app store
TransportHub is a web app. Open it in your phone's browser, add it to your home screen, and it opens like any other app, full screen and with no signal. It updates itself.
Add it to your home screen
Your kind of device is first, outlined in orange.
iPhone and iPad
- Open TransportHub in Safari.
- Tap Share at the bottom of the screen (at the top on an iPad).
- Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen, then Add.
To get road and flight alerts on an iPhone, open TransportHub from its home screen icon (iOS 16.4 or later). Apple only lets apps added to the home screen send alerts.
Android
- Open TransportHub in Chrome.
- Tap Install when TransportHub offers it, or tap at the top right.
- Tap Install app (on some phones, Add to Home screen).
It appears with your other apps. Samsung Internet and Firefox can add it too, from their menus.
A computer
- Open TransportHub in Chrome or Edge.
- Click Install at the right of the address bar.
- It opens in its own window. Or simply keep it as a bookmark: it works the same in a tab.
Planning a trip from home before you fly? Everything works on a computer, and your trip plan can go to your calendar.
On a computer now? Open it on your phone
Point your phone's camera at the code. It opens TransportHub, ready to add to your home screen.
Or type the address: https://app.transporthub.sh
Your first five minutes
Make it yours
1. Choose your buses
On Explore → Roads, under My buses, pick the routes and stops you use. What affects them comes first, wherever it appears.
2. Turn on road alerts
Get SHG's road closures and weather warnings on your phone, for every road or only the ones on your buses. Turn them off any time.
3. Plan a journey
In Buses → Journey Planner, choose where from and where to. It shows the buses, any change, and any road works on the way.
4. Flying? Use Flight Day
Ask for a seat in a shared car to or from the airport. Your driver sees only your pickup; the others in the car don't see you.
5. Sign in only to book
Taxis, hire cars, boat trips and airport rides need an account. Sign in with a code sent to your email: there is no password to remember.
6. Know where help is
Explore → Help and emergencies: 999 and the island's key numbers, and a quick way to tell someone where you're going.
With no signal
Open TransportHub once with a connection and it keeps a copy on your phone. With no signal, you still have:
- every timetable, the journey planner and fares
- the parts of the map you have looked at
- the Post Box Walks and how to reach them
- your trip plan and the help numbers
- the last road and flight news, with how old it is
Updates and removing it
TransportHub updates itself. When a new version arrives, it says "TransportHub has been updated": tap Refresh.
To remove it, delete the icon as you would any app. To clear what it kept on your phone, clear the site's data in your browser's settings. If you have an account, Account → Delete my account removes it from our database too: see the privacy notice.
